ROBOFEST 2018 - SILVER AWARD

The team of University College Anuradhapura won the 2nd Place in the University Category of ROBOFEST 2018 which was conducted by Faculty of Engineering of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) on 07th September 2018. The objective for the contestant was to impart to the micro mouse an adaptive intelligence to explore different maze configurations and to work out the optimum route for the shortest travel time from start to finish.

This is the third time that UCA team won a prize in a Robotic competition. Previously they won the 2nd Place and 3rd Place from the same competition (ROBOFEST 2017) which was organized by SLIIT. Also, they won the 2nd Place and 3rd Place from the Robotic Arm Challenge for University Category which was conducted by the Faculty of Engineering Technology, the Open University of Sri Lanka on 22nd January 2018.

IMPACTO 2017/18 – Robotic Arm Challenge for University Category

The Electronic and Electrical Students of University College of Anuradhapura have won the 2nd Place and 3rd Place from the Robotic Arm Challenge for University Category which was conducted by Faculty of Engineering Technology, Open University of Sri Lanka on 22nd January 2018.

The challenge for the university category was to design and develop an autonomous Robotics Arm with to pick the glass with the table tennis ball and pour the ball to the empty glass within a minimum time duration.

11th International Research Conference - Presenting a Paper

The Annual International Research Conference of Kothalawala Diffence University was held for the eleventh consecutive year on 13th and 14th September 2018, at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka. The conference is organised under the theme “Securing Professional Excellence through Collaboration”. The conference is a world class forum that brings professionals and researchers of various disciplines to a common platform to disseminate their valuable research findings.

M.H.M. Azeem, one of the students in the Department of Quantity Surveying and Ms. M.D. Rathnayake, Course coordinator of the Department of Quantity Surveying published a paper on APPLICATION OF CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME IN PROJECT SCHEDULING OF MAJOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION IN SRI LANKA”.
